We're looking for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our People team and play a vital role in delivering accurate, timely and compliant payroll and benefits services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll or HR administration experience who enjoys working collaboratively, solving problems and providing outstanding support to colleagues.
As a Payroll & Benefits Specialist, you'll take ownership of day-to-day payroll administration, ensuring colleagues are paid correctly and on time. You'll also support the administration of a range of employee benefits, maintaining accuracy, confidentiality and compliance throughout.
You'll act as a trusted first point of contact for payroll and benefits queries, providing clear, professional support that helps colleagues understand their pay and benefits with confidence.
Working closely with HR, Finance, HMRC, pension providers and other stakeholders, you'll help ensure processes run smoothly while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Location: Norwich
Hours: Full Time - 37 hpw - Monday to Friday
Contract: Fixed Term for 12 months (maternity)
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
process payroll data accurately and within deadlines.
complete payroll adjustments, calculations and reconciliations.
administer employee benefits in line with company policies and procedures.
respond to payroll and benefits queries in a professional and timely manner.
maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
ensure compliance with HMRC requirements, pension regulations, GDPR, right-to-work checks and DBS processes.
build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
support continuous improvement initiatives and share insights to enhance processes and colleague experience.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Essential
experience within payroll, payroll administration or HR administration.
strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
good understanding of payroll processes and benefits administration.
knowledge of compliance requirements, including HMRC, pensions, right-to-work, DBS and data protection.
experience using payroll and HR systems.
excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
full UK driving licence.
GCSE-level education or equivalent.
Desirable
payroll qualification (Level 3 or equivalent).
experience working within a busy people, payroll or shared services environment.
