We are pleased to share an opportunity for someone to join Flagship, as an Independent Living Officer. This role is based in Ipswich sharing your working week between two of our sheltered schemes.
This is a permanent job, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexible Working will be considered.
In this role as an Independent Living Officer, you will work alongside the wider housing team, to deliver a housing related support service to customers in our sheltered schemes.
You will have a supportive and proactive approach to ensure our customers can continue to live independently. You will work closely with our customers to understand their needs, and where they may require additional support, such as help with assistive technology, putting additional support in place when needed and understanding individual communication needs which will enable you to deliver outstanding customer service. You will be present in the schemes, carrying out home visits as well as being present in the scheme's offices to assist with customer enquiries.
You will arrange scheme meetings, facilitate customer participation activities as well as carrying out health and safety checks and ensuring the scheme is welcoming. You’ll support your Housing Manager to lead on our vision, Housing Made Simple, to make it as easy as possible for customers to rent their homes whilst ensuring that we are compliant with legislation and Flagship’s policies and procedures.
Applications are welcomed for the role of Independent Living Officer from those with excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, very organised, a strong record keeper and natural problem solver. Applications are welcomed for the role of Independent Living Officer from those with some knowledge of social housing and experience of working in older person housing or supported would be an advantage. You will need to be educated to GCSE standard, or equivalent and hold a full valid driving licence.
