Flagship Housing is seeking a dedicated and skilled Financial Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Finance Manager (Financial Reporting), you will play a crucial role in supporting the maintenance of Flagship's statutory reporting and taxation compliance. Your responsibilities will include leading the maintenance and oversight of a robust balance sheet control environment and driving continuous improvement in this area. Additionally, you will lead specific financial accounting projects aimed at enhancing our operational efficiency.
In this role, you will proactively support the business by providing accurate accounting and tax advice, ensuring that all new business ventures are tax-efficient and correctly reported. You will embrace and apply our company culture of continuous improvement, leveraging your technical knowledge to suggest and implement process changes that help the team work more efficiently.
As a Financial Accountant at Flagship, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in personal development and continuous improvement methodology. You will enhance your ability to liaise with senior management and constructively challenge existing processes. Furthermore, you will increase your understanding of strategic financial controls.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience with different tax structures that maximise tax efficiency, as well as experience in reviewing and implementing new financial processes. You should be adept at preparing financial statements within a group structure and filing tax returns, with a strong appreciation for good documentation to support those returns. Experience in group consolidation accounting and engaging with other business functions to provide financial reporting and tax support is also essential. Strong financial accounting knowledge is a must.
The required qualifications for this role include being qualified at ACCA or ACA (or equivalent) and being educated to GCSE standard.
